About Covent Garden

Once famous as London's fruit and vegetable market, Covent Garden has given away to the Royal Opera House and other shopping and tourist attractions.  It’s hard to call Covent Garden a centre of art in the same way you would describe Notting Hill, however, it is undoubtedly a centre of entertainment.

On Drury Lane in Covent Garden you have the Theatre Royal and an endless supply of cinema.  London’s most famous Church is also located in Covent Garden with St Paul’s Cathedral.  For those that enjoy museums, you can look no further the London Transport Museum.   If anyone enjoys street performance you will find plenty in Covent Garden as Samuel Pepys’s noted in his diary in the 17th century.
